Aries season 2022 astrology forecast
March 21 — Mercury conjunct Jupiter in Pisces
We kick off Aries season with an optimistic and visionary meeting of Mercury and Jupiter in the same degree of Pisces. This is a great time for broadening your perspective and seeing the big picture. Jupiter is very powerful while it is in Pisces, meaning it can help boost Mercury, who struggles to read the fine print while in this mutable water territory. This is an excellent day to read a book about physics (or metaphysics) and contemplate the meaning of life. You might feel more aware of higher meaning and the multitude of connections in the Universe during this time. Mercury-Jupiter conjunctions are great times to synthesize information, bringing together disparate information into some kind of coherent structure.
The downside of this transit is that you might have a bad case of rose-coloured glasses. You might be overly optimistic or so overeager for things to work out that you ignore some red flags. There’s a quality of “biting off more than you can chew” with this transit. Avoid making any grandiose promises, just in case you can’t deliver.
March 22 — Mars in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus
The Mars-Uranus transit has a very different vibe than the Mercury-Jupiter-Neptune action happening in Pisces. Sometimes this happens in astrology: there can be two very different archetypes being activated at the same time. Life is complex and full of contradictions, and the transits reflect that! So, while you might be having a very emotional and fluid experience in one part of your life, another part might be very active and focused.
When Mars squares Uranus, watch out for sudden urges towards freedom and independence. Mars likes to act, and when Uranus gets involved, it can act very erratically. If you’ve been stuck or stagnant in one part of your life, Mars square Uranus can make that frustration more acute, to the point where you suddenly take an action. Maybe there’s a DIY project you’ve been neglecting that you suddenly feel the urge to finish. Maybe there’s a task you’ve been avoiding. Or maybe a situation that you’ve been quietly resenting suddenly flares up and you tell them how you really feel.
March 23 — Mercury conjunct Neptune
The flowy, intuitive, inspiration and foggy energy intensify today, as Mercury moves through a conjunction to Neptune. This transit has the potential to open your mind and connect to your innate intuitive gifts. Neptune’s diffuse and otherworldly energy can help Mercury to perceive patterns and connections previously unnoticed. Mercury conjunct Neptune invites you to contemplate the meaning of life, the universe, and everything, and try to find some kind of meaning in all of the noise.
It can be poetic and inspiring... but also overwhelming. You might struggle to feel grounded around this time. You could also feel very sensitive, both emotionally and physically. It could be a great time for art or channelling psychic downloads... but proceed with caution, so that you don’t overwhelm yourself.
Mercury-Neptune conjunctions can easily lead to mistakes, misunderstandings and general confusion. Neptune tends to obscure things and make them appear different than they are. On the extreme end, you might be dealing with dishonesty, lack of clarity, or things being misrepresented somehow. Neptune can be deceiving or leave us feeling disappointed. Luckily, this transit passes quickly, and in a few days, you’ll be feeling more yourself again.
March 28 — Venus conjunct Saturn in Aquarius
This is one of the transits I have my eye on this month. Since conjoining Mars at 0° on March 6, Venus has been sandwiched between Mars and Saturn. When a planet aspects Mars and Saturn simultaneously (with no other planet involved to break it up), it is called a “malefic enclosure” — basically, the planet is stuck between a rock (Saturn) and a hard place (Mars). Venus has been through a hell of a time in the past four or five months (ahem, the Venus retrograde in Capricorn conjunct Pluto...). Think of this transit as the “final boss” of this transit. After this, it’s smooth sailing into Pisces, where Venus can finally rest their weary bones.
Venus conjunct Saturn is a great time to evaluate your relationships and reflect on what is/n’t working about them. Saturn tends to cool things off: if you’ve been really passionate and excited about something, you might feel a bit more realistic veering on pessimistic the day before and after the transit. If you’ve been excited about a new partner, you might find yourself suddenly disillusioned or noticing the flaws. Especially after such a dreamy set of transits this month, you might have some cold water splashed on you.
This transit could bring up feelings of loneliness and isolation, so it might be nice to do something extra nice for yourself around this date. Plan a phone date with a friend, read a juicy romance in the bath, finally watch Love is Blind on Netflix so you can figure out what everyone is talking about in the #fandom channel... Saturn loves it when we take responsibility for our self-care — how might you shower yourself with love today?
April 1 — New Moon at 11° Aries
The New Moon in Aries takes place at 11° Aries, with Mercury close by, preparing to make its conjunction to the Sun. Mars, the planet that rules Aries (and thus can help us interpret the meaning of the upcoming lunar cycle) is in Aquarius, preparing to conjoin Saturn.
There is tension in this New Moon, a sense of anticipation. Two very important transits (Mars conjunct Saturn, Jupiter conjunct Neptune) happen during this Lunar Cycle but we aren’t quite there yet. We are on the cusp, peering over the edge, but we haven’t taken the leap just yet.
This New Moon invites you to think about the limitations, obstacles and challenges in your life — and imagine new solutions or ways to break through them. The Mars-Saturn energy of this lunar cycle will test your resolve and reserves of strength. The Sun in Aries often wants to go go go, give all of itself to a cause.
My advice is to try to conserve your energy during the upcoming lunar cycle. You might feel impatient, restless or frustrated during this cycle, but it’s important to slow down and take it one step at a time. Otherwise, you’ll waste a lot of time/energy spinning your wheels.
But even as there is all this frustrated energy, there is something else going on beneath surface. Jupiter in Pisces is preparing to conjoin Neptune on April 12, which gives the whole cycle a kind of fluid, dreamy undertone. So even while things might be tense in one part of your life, there is the possibility of emotional relief and escape in another part. What activities help to soothe your soul and calm you down? Try not to let this soothing turn into pure escapism (it’s all about balance!), but instead think of it as a bit of a valve to release some of the pressure. This is a good time to set intentions or do rituals around your energy and create sustainable patterns in your work.
April 2 — Mercury cazimi in Aries
The day after the New Moon, Mercury heads into the heart of the Sun in Aries. This is a transit known as Mercury cazimi and it’s an important part of the Mercury retrograde cycle. In fact, some astrologers consider this to be the beginning of a new Mercury cycle — this is the “New Moon” phase of Mercury’s cycle.
Cazimis are auspicious moments in astrology. When Mercury moves through this conjunction, it’s as if Mercury receives a bolt of inspiration or an important message. There is the possibility for clarity at this time, where you can see how all the pieces fit together. It’s as if the Sun grants Mercury a private audience and grants it a boon.
If you have something important to say or announce, now is a great time to make the proclamation or set the plan into motion. In general, this might be one of those days where you have a brilliant “shower thought” or you receive a download during meditation. It’s a good day for divination, in general, or doing some journaling/free writing. Make the space to receive messages and connect with your thoughts... and see what happens!
April 4 — Mars conjunct Saturn in Aquarius
Mars follows Venus’ footsteps and makes a conjunction with Saturn in Aquarius. But this time, rather than pleasure and relationships coming under scrutiny, Saturn is examining our willpower, drive, and individuality. When Mars and Saturn come together in the sky, it’s almost like you’re trying to drive with the parking brake on. Mars wants to go, it wants to move forward, it wants to take action and exert its will. But Saturn slows you down — it puts obstacles in your way so that you can slowly and purposefully overcome them (or you can find another way around them).
While in Aquarius, Mars is in Saturn’s territory and needs to follow the rules. You can move forward, but it has to be on Saturn’s terms. During this transit, it’s almost like Mars is receiving marching orders from Saturn. Mars will receive a set of instructions and then go out into the world to make it happen. This makes this transit great for taking focused, disciplined action. If you don’t try to rush, this transit can be good for working hard and persisting against all obstacles. It just might take longer than you would necessarily like because Saturn is playing the long game.
For the past several weeks, you have likely been feeling constrained or hemmed in. Mars is egging you on, but Saturn is slowing you down, and there’s a lot of “stuck” energy. Like you want to go, but something is slowing you down. This is a good day for trying to work with this feeling of stuckness and try to process those energies in your body. You can experiment with controlled ways of expressing the energy: coughing, growling, squeezing muscles, shaking fists or limbs, smashing things (safely!!!). Those actions might help you release the pent-up Mars energy while honouring Saturn’s boundaries and limits.
April 5 — Venus enters Pisces
Ahhhh, finally! A vibe change! Venus dips into the soothing waters of Pisces, and it’s like slipping into a bath after getting home from a long, cold day.
Pisces is the sign of Venus’ exaltation — a place where Venus is raised up and honoured. The planet of art, culture, diplomacy, harmony and pleasure loves being in the creative, imaginative waters of Pisces.
And with Jupiter also in Pisces, it makes it even more luxurious and wonderful.
The usual Pisces caveats apply (after all, Jupiter is about to conjoin Neptune!): Venus in Pisces could make you imaginative to the point of escapist, optimistic to the point of delusion, enlightened to the point of fanaticism.
But after such a long time in Saturn-ruled signs, I am so excited for Venus to be in Pisces. This is a beautiful moment to find some peace and pleasure, a moment of respite from the darkness of the world. Obviously, it’s important to still stay aware and engaged, but it’s also ok to take breaks. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
This is a beautiful time to pursue artistic, creative and magical practices that emphasize self-care. Take yourself on a date, have a million baths, read your favourite romance novels, add sigils to your makeup, make everything a ritual.
Venus will be in Pisces until May 2, 2022.
April 12 — Jupiter conjunct Neptune in Pisces
This is one of the biggest transits of the year! There is a Jupiter-Neptune conjunction every 13 years, but the last time we had a Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces was 1856. So this is a pretty big deal!
Jupiter is the great expander. It makes everything it touches bigger, deeper and more powerful. And Neptune is a planet of illusion, delusion and dispersion. Neptune makes things foggy and unclear. Neptune is very ethereal — it makes things less concrete and tangible.
Taking place in Pisces, a water sign, this transit is likely to expand our feelings, emotions and invite us to share those emotions. Watch out for BIG feelings to come up around this time. You might find yourself
But be careful about you believe around this time. Your feelings are valid, but they aren’t always based on truth. Jupiter is associated with the truth, faith and the search for meaning. But Neptune is known to make things confusing or misleading. Neptune is all about illusion and things not being what they seem. Topics related to faith, belief and cosmology abound at this time, but be careful about what you accept as fact.
Some astrologers, like Chris Brennan on The Astrology Podcast, have talked a lot about Jupiter-Neptune and the expansion of virtual reality and augmented reality, since those technologies are all about changing our perception of reality and layering on new information. Keep an eye out for major announcements from tech companies around this time.
At its best, this can be a really inspiring and poetic transit. You might feel connected to the universal cosmos and feel incredibly compassionate for those around you. It’s a great time to dream about the future you want and to get lost in your imagination. If you feel like you’ve lost your sense of magic or inspiration, this could be a good time to reconnect with your higher self.
Just watch out for getting swept away in something that might not be what you think. Neptune is associated with deception and illusion, and Jupiter is associated with charismatic leaders, especially of the spiritual or scholarly type. If something or someone appears too good to be true... proceed with caution. Try to stay grounded so you don’t get overwhelmed by all the mystical energy and people trying to sell you the secret to the universe in three easy steps.
You might feel so generous and compassionate at this time that you try to give all of yourself away. Try to keep some of the magic for yourself. This is would be a great day to book off work and treat yourself to some glorious rest.
April 16 — Full Moon at 26° Libra
The Full Moon in Libra takes place on April 16 and 2:55PM EDT.
Hot on the heels of the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction and with Mars freshly moved into Pisces, this Full Moon screams “emotional release” to me. Full Moons are the climax of the lunar cycle, the moment where we reach the peak of the intensity of the cycle. And a LOT has happened during this particular lunar cycle.
With Venus, the ruler of Libra, exalted in Pisces, this is a beautiful time to focus on giving yourself exactly what you need to feel safe and well cared for. Wear clothes that feel good, use the fancy skincare products, splurge on the extra fancy snack of your choice.
This Full Moon takes place square to Pluto in Capricorn, which does give the energy a bit of an edge. You might be dealing with circumstances outside of your control that feel shocking and overwhelming. There might be disharmony or discord around you that you need to protect yourself from. Try to focus on coming together with others and being part of collective solutions, rather than despairing on your own. Libra loves to find a peaceful solution and is good at finding a middle ground between disparate perspectives. Put that superpower to work by reaching out to others and seeing how you might support one another.
This is the last lunation before eclipse season, so if you want to do any classic Full Moon rituals, this is a great time to do it.
April 18— Mercury conjunct Uranus in Taurus
Mercury moves headfirst in Uranus in Taurus, indicating unexpected events or sudden breakdowns/breakthroughs in technology. Watch out for technology acting up or things just feeling wonky and unsettled today, as Uranus' revolutionary, dramatic, liberation-oriented nature expresses itself through words, ideas, technology, communication, finances and other Mercury-ruled things.
This is a time when you might receive a sudden flash of inspiration. New ideas flow through you. This could be an amazing time to create work, especially if involves language, expression and communication. Keep an idea notebook nearby and don't censor yourself during these 24 hours.
The North Node is currently in Taurus, and soon the Sun will also enter Taurus. This shifts the energy towards the Taurus-Scorpio axis and sets us up for the eclipses that will occur during Taurus season. Mercury is the first planet to enter this part of our charts, so pay attention to the themes that come up around this time — it might give you clues about how the eclipse season will unfold.
Ok, great, but how will this astrology affect me?
Great question. That’s what an astrology consultation is for! In these sessions, you’ll learn about your birth chart and how to work WITH your chart, rather than against it.
