Gemini Season Astrology Forecast
/Welcome to Gemini season, loves!
This is Mercury’s season, a time when we are called to explore possibilities, communicate our dreams, and move, share and flow.
There is lightness and flow to Gemini energy. It rushes, it wanes, it ducks and dives. Currents of air, gusts of wind. After the slow, steady, solid growth of Taurus season, Gemini season feels much freer. Gemini season encourages us to be flexible and adaptable, to indulge in our flights of fancy, and to follow wherever our whims take us.
After a gnarly eclipse season and a tough start to Mercury retrograde, Gemini season is pretty smooth sailing. There is lots of energy and excitement in the air, as Mercury stations direct, Mars and Jupiter hang out in Aries, and then Venus returns to Taurus.
Gemini, it’s your birthday season! Celebrate yourself with astrology.

May 21 — Sun conjunct Mercury RX at 0° Gemini (Mercury cazimi)
Gemini season begins with a powerful moment of clarity, insight and awareness. Mercury has entered the heart of the Sun and is undergoing a process of rebirth and renewal. When Mercury is cazimi, it is as if Mercury has the king's ear and is momentarily empowered. And especially since Mercury is in Gemini, one of the signs that it rules and therefore has access to all of its resources, this moment of empowerment could be very powerful and supportive.
Mercury retrograde is now officially half over. The Mercury retrograde cazimi tends to indicate some kind of transformation or change in your retrograde story. You might receive a bolt of inspiration or suddenly receive an important message that was previously delayed. There is the possibility for clarity at this time, where you can see how all the pieces fit together.
This cazimi is a great time for an energetic reset/refresh. Stay flexible, curious and open-minded — you never know new information will come your way that will change your perspective. Let new ideas come forward; you never know how they will change your life.
May 25 — Mars enters Aries
Mars enters Aries with a bang! Aries is one of Mars’ home signs, and it has a lot of energy, power and motivation while in this fiery, cardinal sign. Aries is the energy of initiation, new beginnings, and spring. Mars is the warrior, taking on the world and bringing the fight (with or without a cause).
Mars joins Venus and Jupiter in Aries, putting a lot of emphasis on the House that contains Aries in our charts. Mars agitates and motivates. It spurs us on, it adds heat and excitement. It gets things going. Watch out for the House that contains Aries to get really active and busy for the next six weeks. If things have felt a little stuck or stagnant in your life, Mars in Aries can help you get the motivation and willpower to finally make a change.
The downside is that Mars in Aries can also make us feel restless, irritable and prone to lash out. You might notice that tempers flare and people are quick to anger. In the world/news/politics, this might look like protests, uprisings, calls for revolution, and state violence. Be mindful of your own tendency to leap towards force as a means to achieve your goals. Where are you spending unnecessary energy? Where are you pushing when you could be asking? How might you balance out all of this Fire energy?
Mars will be in Aries until July 5.
May 25/26 — Mercury RX in Taurus trine Pluto in Capricorn - 28°
This is the second (of three) trines Mercury has made to Pluto in recent memory. The first was April 28, when Mercury was direct. This is a good moment to return to whatever you were working on in late April and review it with fresh eyes. Especially if you have been doing a major research project over this period, Mercury retrograde trine Pluto might give you some new insight or reveal a new piece of information that sheds light on something more profound than you had originally anticipated.
In general, today is a good day to dive into an investigation or go on the search for truth. If you have been trying to communicate or explore something that defies words May 25 and 26 might be good days to dedicate yourself to this search, to go deep down the rabbit hole. Since Mercury and Pluto are both in Earth signs, there might be a physical, embodied or sensual angle to this research topic: how you spend your time, how you manage your money, how you interact with your physical surroundings... these are all ripe topics for investigation.
Mercury will trine Pluto for a third and final time on June 10, 2022.
May 28 — Venus enters Taurus
Oh, fuck yeah, baby. Today at 10:46 AM EDT Venus enters her earthy, nocturnal domicile with a sigh of relief. After weeks spent in a sign where she struggles, this is a nice change of scenery for Venus. Think less “Tower” and more “Empress.” Venus in Taurus leans into her sensual side, exploring the beauty of the natural world, the power of art, and the magic in good food and good friends. This is a beautiful time to prioritize your rest, pleasure and wellness. Slow down, smell the roses, and chill the fuck out.
This is not an entirely peaceful transit for Venus. While in Taurus, Venus will be sharing space with Uranus and the North Node, which adds a certain frenetic quality to the next few weeks. Venus has put in a lot of work to keep the peace right now. You might find your desires amplified as Venus moves through Taurus, with your appetite for social connection, earthly pleasures and luxury becoming extra voracious around June 11 and June 16. But at least the planet of peace and beauty is back in a position of power, helping to balance out the other dynamic energies happening right now.
Venus will be in Taurus until June 22
May 29 — Mars conjunct Jupiter at 3° Aries
Today, Mars and Jupiter come together in fiery, excitable Aries. Mars, as the ruler of Aries, swoops in to give Jupiter a mighty boost. And Jupiter, as the planet of expansion and growth, has no problem turning up the volume.
Whatever has been building since Mars entered Aries on May 25 is now reaching a new peak. On its own, Jupiter can be a bit grandiose, but Mars lends Jupiter the strength it needs to get shit done. And Mars in Aries loves to get shit done.
At the global level, Mars conjunct Jupiter might intensify displays of nationalism and a “might makes right” mentality. Mars is the military and Jupiter is institutions of power — watch out for displays of strength and grandiosity. Political extremism, controversy and self-righteousness abound right now. Beware of politicians making absurd arguments meant to inspire a reaction, rather than level-headed debate.
On the personal level, Mars conjunct Jupiter can make you extra competitive, combative or bombastic. You might find yourself feeling extra aggressive or tense on this day. Your actions might be guided by higher ideals right now, but be sure you don’t take yourself too seriously — try to maintain a sense of humour.
You might be swept up in a desire for glorious action, to go on grand adventures, and you might find yourself burning yourself at both ends to do it all. You might have a lot of energy right now, but your time and energy are finite. Try not to overcommit. Pace yourself.
May 30 — New Moon at 9° Gemini
Hurray for NOT an eclipse, amiright?! This is just a nice, simple New Moon taking place at 9° Gemini. The downside is that Mercury is currently retrograding through the neighbouring sign of Taurus, meaning that Mercury can’t “see” this New Moon. Mercury is also moving very slowly at the moment, as it prepares to station direct in a few days.
This means that the next lunar cycle is off to a bumpy start. You might have some false starts or problems might show up that prevent you from making progress right away. But as the lunar cycle progresses, and Mercury stations direct and moves back into Gemini, you will likely start to pick up speed. By the Full Moon in Sagittarius, we’ll be in a very different space, energetically.
If you are someone who likes to do rituals on the new moon to set intentions, this is a great time to get back into that habit. To honour Gemini energy, think about new beginnings regarding your communication, self-expression and organization. This could also be a good time to learn something new, share your knowledge or simply have a million conversations with a million different people. After such a raucous eclipse season, this New Moon should feel like a nice change of pace.
June 3 — Mercury stations direct at 26° Taurus
Mercury concludes its retrograde journey today, turning direct at 26° Taurus. Remember, the days before and after Mercury’s station tend to be the most disruptive from a “classic Mercury retrograde” perspective. June 1 - 5th are days to be extra aware of possible missteps, mistakes and miscommunications. Double-check your work and don’t be afraid to ask follow-up questions, so that you have all of the information you need. Other people might be trying to rush around, but that doesn’t mean you have to!
Mercury stations direct within 1° of Saturn. This aspect, while not exact, is still close enough to cause some tension. Watch out for extra delays, difficulties and frustrations during the days before and after the station. Saturn is a stern taskmaster and wants to make sure that all the Is are dotted and Ts are crossed. You might find yourself navigating a lot of red tape or bureaucracy that really drags things out. There’s a feeling of need to slow, stop, pause and fix something, before you can move on.
Mercury stationing direct is a great time to review the past few weeks and reflect on what you have learned. What has this Mercury retrograde taught you about how you communicate? Do you have new insights into how you use your time and energy? Have you made any progress on important research projects? Now is the time to check in with yourself and see how you can use this information to move forward with greater speed in the future.
If you have any planets or points at 26° Taurus, this will extra noticeable in your life.
June 10 — Mercury in Taurus trine Pluto in Capricorn - 28°
Mercury is now direct and moving into its third and final trine with Pluto in Capricorn. Think back to the research projects and investigations that began around April 28 and May 25 — what progress have you made? What more have you learned? If you’ve felt stalled or blocked regarding those themes, now might be a time when you hit on a piece of vital information that helps you move forward.
Now that Mercury is direct, you might start to notice you are finally making progress when previously you were stalled, or perhaps there is a reversal or major change in a situation that now allows for more forward movement.
June 11 — Venus conjunct Uranus at 16°53' Taurus
Watch out for unexpected surprises and disruptions today, especially in your relationships, art, peace, and pleasure. Uranus is the great revolutionary and is here to set us free from whatever holds us back. And Venus represents the social/civic fabric of society — the things that keep us together. When Venus is in control, everyone gets along and things are peaceful and harmonious. But when the planet of peace meets the planet of upsets... sparks fly!
There are many different ways this energy might manifest. At the collective level, you might see an increase of how there isn’t enough peace and harmony — public protests, uprisings, and civic unrest could spur up around human rights around this time. Or maybe there is some kind of sudden, unexpected event that challenges the status quo.
In your personal life, Venus conjunct Uranus could signal some kind of surprise or shake-up in your personal relationships, your creativity or your sexuality. This could be anything from a sudden fallout with a friend or your partner introducing a new kink in the bedroom. If you’ve been stuck in a rut in your creativity or artistic practice, an unexpected event or idea might spur you to action.
Because Venus is in her own sign, there will hopefully be the more positive manifestations of this energy — while the disruptions might be unsettling, they could ultimately be for the best. By adapting to Uranus’s shakeups, you might make some important and helpful long-term changes.
The only downside is that in a few days, on June 18, Venus will square Saturn in Aquarius. Whatever freedom or change you’ve won, it might be challenged or curtailed once reality sets in. Or you might have to exert some effort and fight for some of the freedom that you won.
June 13 — Mercury re-enters Gemini
Ahhh, we’re back, baby! And ready to go. Mercury is back in its home sign, this time and direct and able to enjoy its full strength and power. After slowing down to pause and review during the Mercury retrograde, you are now ready to move forward. You’ve been researching, studying and preparing (whether you were aware of it or not!) for the past few weeks and now it’s time to make some moves.
Mercury in Gemini is extremely curious and inquisitive. It questions, analyzes, it deconstructs. Mercury in Gemini likes to pull things apart just to see how it works. It hungers for knowledge and wants to consume all of the information it can. But Mercury in Gemini is also a translator: it wants to share what it learns with others so that it can continue to be questioned and interrogated, and thus, evolve and grow.
This makes for a dynamic mind and lots of ideas, but it can also be exhausting and frenetic, especially if you are already prone to anxiety or overthinking. Use this enthusiasm in projects and tasks that are detail-oriented and have lots of moving pieces, but don’t be afraid to take some breaks from mental stimulation to get back into your body. Slow flow yoga could be a nice way to channel Mercury’s desire to move with something relaxing and steadying. Hell, even just lying down in a dark room with your eyes closed for 15 minutes could help you come back to yourself.
Mercury is also the traditional god of merchants and business in Ancient Astrology and was associated with the transfer of money and all things commerce. It will be interesting to see what happens with inflation and the stock market once Mercury is back in Gemini.
Mercury will reach 5° Gemini on June 19, thus ending the post-retrograde shadow period.
June 14 — Full Moon at 23° Sagittarius
Today’s Full Moon in Sagittarius is fiery and dynamic. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign that invites us to dream big and lean into optimism, even when it feels foolish. Honestly, this Full Moon feels like a big party. The mutable fire of Sagittarius loves excitement, adventure and trying new things.
This Full Moon is ruled by Jupiter, who is now at 5° Aries. Jupiter in Aries has courage in spades and is definitely up for whatever shenanigans the Moon in Sagittarius has in mind. Jupiter in Aries is inviting you to dream big or go home.
Just watch out for getting carried away. This Full Moon is also square Neptune in Pisces, which adds a little chaos and messiness to the mix. Neptune also loves to party, but it definitely adds a vibe to the energy. Think about it like this: if all the planets were at a house party, Neptune would definitely be the one dropping acid. The square to Neptune might make you feel more likely to overindulge in substances or get swept away in your feelings. But it could also lead to transcendent experiences and add a little inspiration to your life.
This is a great day to let your imagination run wild, lose yourself in a piece of art, and explore new ideas and new ways of being. The high won’t last forever, but why not enjoy it, if you can?
June 16 — Sun in Gemini trine Saturn in Aquarius + square Neptune - 25°; Venus conjunct the North Node at 22° Taurus
What a weird day! The Full Moon hangover lingers, as the Sun makes a trine to Saturn and a square to Neptune, while Venus forms a conjunction to the North Node.
Sun trine to Saturn is usually a really productive transit, one that can help give the clarity and focus needed to make progress towards long-term goals and projects. But today, Neptune descends its cloud of confusion and throws the Sun off course. If you can find your flow and let the creativity fuel you, this could be a really productive and inspired day. (Neptune loves sharing new ideas!) But if you find yourself staring at a wall and feeling utterly disorganized… well, now you know which transit to blame.
Meanwhile, Venus heads into the mouth of the dragon, making a conjunction to the North Node. In the immortal words of the Spice Girls, “tell me what you want, what you really, really want.” The North Node, also known as Rahu in Vedic Astrology, amplifies whatever planets it touches, increasing the intensity and vibrancy of the planet. In this case, Venus in Taurus is being turned up all the way to 11.
Watch out for Venus themes to be extra obvious and loud today — you might feel extra drawn to material or physical comforts, like good food, comfy clothes and beautiful artwork. You might be extra full of desire to connect with others (platonically or romantically). The insatiable hunger of the North Node has you “overdoing it” a bit, so watch out for feeling a bit intense or obsessive on this date. This is a really good day to ask yourself “What is enough?” — when is enough? When will you be satisfied? How do you know when you’ve finished?
